Too hard to narrow down. I like 30s-50s classic Hollywood; French films, especially Renoir and Truffaut; Chaplin and Keaton; period pieces like Merchant-Ivory and earlier; music and concert docs; artsy pieces like The Red Shoes; Japanese samurai epics, esp. Kurosawa, and recent Chinese epics, like Red Cliff; the rare, well-done fantasy or sci-fi, like Blade Runner or LOTR; Silent era German Expressionism, like Murnau and Lang. My DVD collection numbers about 1200 films and is very eclectic.
Have always loved film. In the 80s, worked for Denver Center Cinema and volunteered for DIFF. College English prof and Ph.D. in Medieval Celtic Lit and Mythology.
