Morrison - Grapevine - Lookout loop

This is a great early season climbing route, with an optional detour up Shinglemill and a short, but very steep pitch, up Lininger. First in a series of rides that will have a little gravel. Yum!

Meet at parking across from Conoco at C-470/Morrison Road, at 8:45 with a 9:00am start

Approx. 30 miles, 3,000 of elevation gain

I was at the lot from 8:45 to 9:00 and didn't see anyone. Did anyone show up?

Although I did not RSVP, the ride was so much better than I had anticipated! Thanks Jay for getting me out today and what a day it was! I ended up riding back to the top of 40 from Lookout before heading back down to the car. It was nice to see you again and I look forward to many more rides with you this summer.

Hmm, it's cold, wet, and foggy up here by Morrison.

Not up for riding in cold wet weather. Hoped for dry sunshine at least.

is there an option to avoid the gravel parts if it's muddy, etc? Just got my bike overhauled..Thanks

Sorry-but no. But doubt if it'll be muddy, it's more like an old asphalt roadway

I rode Grapevine in early Feb. Old asphalt roadway is being generous. At least a mile or so of it at the north end is a hard packed dirt road, and the old asphalt on the majority of the rest of it is in very bad shape. It was definitely ride-able at that point, but that was before the wet weather really hit in late Feb/March. Should be a fun ride!

I think it's going to be a bit wet for me. Hope I can join you for another ride!

If it is cool and damp in the morning I won't make it. I am tired of riding cold. I have the day off and can wait until it is warmer later in the day to get out and ride. If I am not there by roll out time I have chosen to just go on my own and will hook up with you all on another ride.
