Members of Denver Day Hikers are not asked to pay a fee or to donate for attending events. But you understand that you will incur costs related to appropriate gear, gas/carpool contributions, state or national park entrance fees, food, etc.?
Outdoor activities can be risky and you are responsible for your own gear and safety. Do you understand that you participate at your own risk, are responsible for your own safety, and release the organizers from liability?
Do you understand that if you NO SHOW(sign up and do not show up or cancel within 24 hours of event), you will be removed from this group?
What types of hikes would you most enjoy with the group? EASIER (6 miles and 1,000’ gain or less); MODERATE (6-9 miles and 1,000-2,000’ gain); or ADVENTUROUS (10 miles and more than 2,000’ gain or more)
All of the above.
Hi, I've been in Colorado since 1997 and enjoy hiking, biking, backpacking, etc. I'm looking to meet new people and explore new areass.
Denver Day Hikers is a group of folks who love the Colorado outdoors. Although we primarily hike, we also love other outdoor activities—from downtown walking tours to snowshoeing to rafting. Join the group to have access to all our hikes and meet some super awesome people in the process!
Our hikes vary from in the mountains to around the Metro area. Although we occasionally do some easier hikes, most of our outings are moderate to strenuous. And occasionally, we may plan out-of-town excursions for 14ers, Great Sand Dunes NP, Mesa Verde NP/Durango, Crested Butte, and other things.
Excepting expenses anyone would incur when hiking (gas/carpool money, food, park entrance, gear, etc), this group is FREE. No organizer will ever ask you to pay or donate just to attend an outing. We simply love being outside and want to share the experience with others.
We are not professional guides and all outings are at your own risk. You understand that, by joining this group and attending any event, you are responsible for your own safety. References to proper gear and safety checklists can be found under our files section (more > files) as well as a release of liability. We also highly recommend you carry your own medical and auto insurance policies as well as a Colorado Outdoors Recreation Search and Rescue (CORSAR) card.
NOTE: Please make sure to review the attendance policy under more > files. Members who no show three times will be removed from the group.
