Victor is graciously hosting a Spanish conversation meetup (in conjunction with the Denver Free Spanish Network). Please only RSVP YES if you are definitely planning on attending.

Our group ranges from beginner, intermediate, advanced, and native speakers, so all are welcome. Come see old friends and meet new ones!

Some quick facts:

1) Meetings are from 7:30pm-10pm. It's very informal, meaning you can come at any time during those hours. We always ask members to please not show up any earlier than 7:30pm and be sure to be conscientious about leaving by 10pm.

2) Hosts are never obligated to provide food or beverages - if you wish, bring a beverage with you. Our gracious hosts provide hospitality; some ambitious guests bring food or beverages to share with others, but that is never required.

3) We average between 8 and 30 people at Denver Free Spanish Network meetings that are designated as meetups. You're always welcome to bring friends with you.

4) If you want a complete listing of all Denver Free Spanish Network meetings, make a check out to Isobel McGowan at the address listed at

I've got classes Mon and Tues 'till 10PM....yikes!

Who attended?

  • 10 attendees
    •  Very experienced Spanish speakers!
    •  Enjoyed speaking and listening to the different Spanish levels. Everyone was given a chance to practice.
    •  Everyone had an opportunity to speak Spanish and the quality of the Spanish spoken by the host and many guests was excellent. I will attend these meetups again.
    •  No one brought anything to share, either food or drink. I provided snacks, coffee, tea, home made salsa. I passed around the newsletter and the host sign up sheet, no one was willing to step up to the plate. In the future, I would host one of these if its #1 Billed as a potluck and attendees call in their RSVP with what they intend to bring and they RSVP 24 hours before the event in case of cancellation. I would cancel if the event turned out like last time with only two people showing up. This time attendance was a lot better but no one left any donation, brought anything or volunteered to help with the clean up so under those circumstances, I'm not volunteering my home for the foreseeable future. Apparently people do bring food and drinks to Isobels house and I misunderstood that to be the custom. I was wrong. I did ask everyone to introduce themselves in Spanish and talk a little about themselves and why they are interested in learning spanish. Thanks
