Denver Free Spanish Network - Spanish Language Meetup Message Board › Spanish-speaking volunteers needed for Denver Digs Trees
San Diego, CA
Denver Digs Trees, a program of The Park People, is seeking volunteers to help us better serve the Spanish speaking communities of Denver. We have a small staff and rely on an extraordinary group of volunteers to make our programs possible. We have been distributing free and lost cost trees to Denver residents for over 20 years. We provide all of our materials and trainings in English and Spanish, and strive to have a Spanish speaker on staff. However, with tight budgets we are in need of Spanish speaking volunteers to help us continue to serve Denver the best we can and improve our urban tree canopy.
Our Spanish speaking volunteers would be contacted on an on-call basis to help with phone calls, outreach material updates, and community events. We do most of our communication with the community around our spring street tree distribution – January to April – and our fall shade tree distribution – August and September. We typically have 1-3 Spanish communication needs per month during those times.
Volunteers are welcome to attend our trainings and become familiar with tree planting and care in order to answer questions, or can simply translate questions and answers for us. Most of the work does not require being in our office, unless preferred. And our community events all take place around central Denver. Our office is open Monday through Friday and most of our community events happen on Saturdays.
We really hope you will join us!
