Hot Pink Ticket with a Touch of Blue Concert: Free

We’re a group of just-for-the-fun-of-it performers getting together twice a year under the direction of Christy Wessler to put polish on some songs and perform for our friends and families. We start out with two songs each and jam with whatever musicians and vocalists sign up until we get a sound we like, then we smooth it out for a live performance.

This 2-hour show features 16 performers including DFO’s very own Judy Duran singing a torch song and a selection from ABBA's Momma Mia! Vocals are accompanied by piano, percussion, harmonica, acoustic and electric guitars, bass, dobro, and mandolin.

We might only be stars in our own minds, but we have a lot of fun with our music and so do our audiences.

Thanks for stopping! We sure have fun doing that show. It's a testament to the producing/directing talents of Christy Wessler that she can take that many people with widely different degrees of talents, abilities and tastes and crafts a fairly decent show out of it in just 7 1/2 weeks and 8 rehearsals. The piano player, Greg, is a friend of mine. He has performed on the worldwide stage. When he came to the first rehearsal, he was like "Oh no! What did I get myself into? This is AWFUL." This is the e-mail he sent us yesterday: A special congrats to all - vocalists and musicians. Following my first rehearsal, I was a bit concerned. Judy assured me not to worry, the group will come through, and she was right. I sat stage right for the entire performance and I was blown away! The performance was worth all the effort.

I usually have my daughter-in-law take pictures of the performance, but she has to work and probably won't make it tonight. Can one of you take pictures? I'll have my camera all set up on automatic and all you'll have to do is squeeze the trigger! They don't have to be professional -- just mementos for the performers, especially the ones taking the stage for the first time.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
