Let's discuss "Eyes Without a Face" and "The Nest"

Watch these two movies BEFORE the meetup and come prepared to discuss them over a drink. Buy, borrow, rent or stream...up to you.

We're gonna go a little high-brow with a little low-brow this time....

Eyes Without A Face- 1960 directed by Georges Franju

At his secluded chateau in the French countryside, a brilliant, obsessive doctor
(Children of Paradise's Pierre Brasseur) attempts a radical plastic surgery to restore the beauty of his daughter's disfigured countenance—at a horrifying price. EYES WITHOUT A FACE, directed by the supremely talented Georges Franju (Judex), is rare in horror cinema for its odd mixture of the ghastly and the lyrical, and it has been a major influence on the genre in the decades since its release.

The Nest- 1988 directed by Terence Winkless

Horrifying shocker as a biological experiment goes haywire when meat eating mutant roaches invade an island community, terrorizing a peaceful New England fishing village and hideously butchering its citizens.

For those of you looking for copies: Eyes Without a Face is in the library system. The Nest is currently on YouTube from a Russian DVD rip, poorly dubbed (as in two Russian people translating the dialog right on top of the English soundtrack). Easy enough to pick up the plot, but I may have a few questions...

Can't find a working version of both. I found a version in French with no subtitles, but my French is rusty. Keeping these on my list to watch!
