Re: [horror-64] Want to host a horror meetup in September or October ?

Hello JT,

I am in Aurora too and would love to get out and watch a movie or head
out to a local bar. However, this weekend is definitately a no-go. I
have plans to go to the State Fair and then watch the hot air balloons
on Sunday in Colorado Springs. But, I'm sure we'll talk soon enough. Or
meet at one of the next meetups.

Heather

Hello, Everybody.
I hope everyone is doing great. I am very new to the group and I live
in Aurora, very close to where the Target - Kohl's Shopping center is
located on Havana & Mississippi Avenue. I wanted to see if any folks
who live in or near this side of town might want to get together to
catch a movie either Friday or Saturday night? I work from home, and I
have joint custody of my son who I do not have this week, and thought
it would be great out to get out of the house.

I am open to different movies but there are a couple that did sound
good like there's an 8:00 showing of Don't Be Affraid Of The Dark which
is playing at The Aurora Cinema 16 which is by the Aurora Mall.  Also,
another movie I would like to possibly see which is more sci-fi than
scary is Green Lantern which is playing at The Aurora Cinema Grill, and
for those who haven't been there, they get movies after they have been
playing for a little while, you can order food from a menu while
waiting for the movie to start, and then they bring it out to you.

Also, another possibility I had thought of which would not involve
watching a movie would be getting together at One of the sports bars in
the area like a Fat Boys or Gibbys and there are others in the area.
Maybe watch a game, play a little pool, grab a bite, and maybe talk
about how we got introduced to scary movies, and discuss some of our
favorites. If anyone might be up for any one of the above activities
please let me know, and if this weekend does not work, there are other
weekends coming up. Thanks.

John aka JT

John, I know there are several members who live out your way, so feel
free to host a meetup out there and I'm sure you'll get some takers,

Dawn

Hello, All.
I just joined the horror meetup group and think it's great that there
are people who enjoy watching good scary movies. I moved here from out
of state a few years ago, and because I work from home also thought
this would be a great way to get to meetup with some people who
appreciate a scary movie. I do live in Aurora, and wanted to know are
there ever any events held in the Aurora - Cherry Creek area? I look
forward to hearing about more upcoming events and look forward to
meeting the group. Thanks.

Hello all I hope you are doing well. There are many opportunities
coming your way to host a meetup with Mile High Horrors and get to meet
a bunch of fun folks.
"Don't be afraid of the Dark", "Paranormal Activity 3" , "Creature"
"Dream House" teh "Thing" and a midnight movie showing of "Shaun of the
Dead" are just a few of the many genre movies opening in Sept, Oct and
Nov that will need a host/hostess.
Like haunted houses but never have anybody to go with you? Host a
meetup to one of Denver's haunted houses in October and you'll get at
least 3-4 fellow scoobies to join
you.
And don't forget the annual "Zombie Crawl" in downtown Denver on Oct
22nd. I'm not attending this year but have gone the past 3 years and it
is always a blast. If you're going I'd love you to host a gathering of
our meetup group.
For more ideas visit our Calendar and read the "notes" on the dates.

If you want to host an event just email an organizer with the basics-
we'll post it and then you can edit it whenver you want to/need to.
If you want to host an event I didn't mention- say a dvd viewing at
your place
or a ghost hunt or even a night of bowling I'd love to hear from you.
Dawn
