Bring you mobile devices to share with others for testing, you web app/site to test on various devices, laptop to hack on your code with others and your questions, insights and experiences to help push the mobile web forward.
We're crowdsourcing the device lab. By sharing our device collections we can build a large inventory of devices to test our web sites/apps on.
With the constantly changing nature of the web and rapidly growing mobile space it can be very difficult to test your web app/site across all the various operating systems, device sizes and web browsers. We'll be coming together as a group to share our collective experience in design/development and our personal device collections to progress the web and Denver mobile web communities.
Bring your: Smart phones. Tablets. Laptop. Game consoles. E-Readers. Handheld game systems...if it can connect to the web bring it to test on and let other test on.
For testing we'll be looking to use Adobe Edge Inspect (formerly Adobe Shadow) and/or Weinre (the free open source version of Edge Inspect) or push your app/site up to a test server to get an ever more accurate experience. There will be plenty of people to bounce ideas off of and ask questions.
Not testing? Just curious about mobile web technology. This could be a great opportunity to see first hand what is happening with the web on non-desktop devices.
The Desk Denver is generously donating space for these meetings. They have a great selection of coffee and adult beverages up front and a great co-working space in the back. Perfect for the more hands on format of this group because of the very fast, secure wifi, open desk spaces, ample seating and many power outlets. There is very limited parking in the alley behind and plenty of free street parking in the area, as well as being right off multiple bus lines in Capitol Hill area.
