Marvel Heroic Roleplaying

Hi all--I'm very interested in running a MHR campaign in the Denver area. I'm happy to host or meet up at a convenient FLGS. For those who may not know, Marvel Heroic is a roleplay-heavy system that imitates the feel of a comic book perfectly. I've got all the supplements, which means we could do an actual Marvel event like Civil War, Annihilation, or Age of Apocalypse--or we could run something a little more unique. Create your own superhero or play a favorite from the pages. Let's go kick some supervillain ass.

Hey guys! Sorry for the long silence. I've been overloaded for the last couple months, and not sure when I'll have time to pull another session together. Sadly, as an actor, all of my evenings are booked.

Just checking in to see when we may have another session. Also, I am recruiting for my Saturday gaming group if anyone is interested. We are currently playing a fantasy game.

I was wondering when we were going to pick back up. I'm available during the week if you want to resume. I'm committed to an ongoing game on Saturday evenings.

The game was fun and hinted at more good-things-to-come.

We're on for tomorrow night at Bonnie Brae. We'll spend some time choosing/creating characters, then play for the time that's left. If you can, bring some writing materials and dice (the system uses d4, d6, d8, d10, and d12--lots of them). I'm putting together some street-level, noir style villainy. See you at seven!

I'm okay with the date and time Never done this type of RPG before so I vote for street.

Awesome. If everyone could sound off on date/time, that would be great--if Tuesday works, let's do it. If not, let me know and we'll figure out a time that's good for everyone. Also, let's get votes in for what style we're going for--street, cosmic, or mutants.

I live in Virginia Village, near Monaco and Evans. I have run a a couple campaigns in the Marvel system. I have adapted my Daredevil's Shadowland and run my own stories using the players' original creations. We just started a new Marvel Defenders campaign when we went on hiatus. Life and kids got in the way of me running, so I turned over the reigns to one of the other players to run his Crime Noir campaign. That one is winding down and we're talking of maybe going back to my Marvel game. Regardless, I will watch this group develop with great interest.

Great to see someone with experience in the system. Would love to hear your two cents about what sort of game theme sounds fun. I think I'm feeling a bit cosmic, myself, probably due to anticipation for GotG next year.

My last game was Cosmic. I'm feeling more street level. But, I'm a huge fan of Silver Surfer and 80s Guardians of the Galaxy.

After giving this some thought, I'm going to bow out. I'm in 2 other campaigns so adding a 3rd would be too much, despite how badly i want to play. Perhaps in the future one day I can join.

Hey, Sumit! If this comes together, do you have any preferences about stories, characters, or anything like that? Just want to read the vibe. What's your general location in Denver? I live in the Capitol Hill area--willing to travel though.

      Good to know.

I'm also happy to host, if the proximity's better. Or we could look at a more central location. Bonnie Brae? I'm new to Denver, so suggestions welcome.

I'm changing the placeholder date. I realized I'll be out of town the 14th. Date is still very much up in the air though.

Maybe some place like Dark Matter Games on Wadsworth in Lakewood?

  • Graham W.

Date and time TBD, but Thurs, Nov. 14 looks like a good placeholder to me. Thanks, Bethany. It'll put it on the calendar at least. Anyone feel free to suggest a time/place.
