If you're a lover of D&D 3.5e, this group is for you! Welcome to the Realms of Agregor! (my home-brew setting) Visit the great metropolis of Kolder City; the vastly huge Kirnokke Forest; the elves of Brüünwood; the halflings of Ebonshire; the dwarves of Stonenest; the coastal cities of Netali and Cospen where you can sail to the dangerous Islands of the Gods or take a trek across the desert lands of Öubreail! Adventure, fame and fortune awaits! Note: This is a group will be geared for beginner to intermediate players and not advanced those-who-have-already-DM'd-and-read-every-monster-manual-and-memorized-every-rule-to-a-T players. ;-) I have DM'd for almost three years, but am not, by far, a rules guru (rules lawyers need not apply). I love to change things up a bit and have some minor, easy to learn, house rules. Hope to hear from everyone!
Have fun guys & gals, I was hoping for Saturday afternoons, unfortunately I can't make it on Saturday evenings.
Awwwww shiznit!!!! I just remembered I cant do Saturdays cause that's when my other group meets at the same time tooo.... Awwwww man if we changed to fri I could play but if not man I can't join you guys... Shiznit!!!! :(( sry... I would have loved to play with you giys tho... If we did earlierer in the afternoon on says I could go too but if not I will look to the next v.3.5 adventure!!!!
Ok...I need to get a consensus on when people would like to play. Here's an easy way to vote: 1 = Fri 7PM on, 2 = Sat 1PM - x, 3 = Sat 7PM on, 4 = Sun 10AM-4PM, or 5 = Sun 5PM-9PM.
Jason, Yes, I have DMed 3.5 before. In fact I am running a 3.5 variant now. But that group is on hiatus at the moment. I'll be honest, I was a rules lawyer a LONG time ago. I have since seen the error of my ways. Saturday Feb 4 from 7pm on works for me. As to the multiple choice question posed 1,2, or 3 work. 4 and 5 definitely do not.
I changed the date and time from Saturday, February 04, 2012 at 7:00 PM to Friday, February 03, 2012 at 7:00 PM
Ok...so the consensus I see is Fri 7PM. I have changed the date to the 3rd. Sound good to everyone?
Lookin like an hour and a half drive for me to get there. Being as I live in commerce city. Have to back out. That's with out traffic. Saturday worked for me. But such is life. Have a great game guys.
2 Jasons would have been confusing anyway :) J/K. I disagree w/your time frame. I live & work in Westminster/Broomfield. I have friends who live near where we would be meeting & the trip's not as long as you think. I google mapped commerce city to the other Jason's address & it's saying 35-40 mins. I know that GPS nav is usually overly optimistic, & from experience the "mouse trap" is the worst part of the trip, but 90min for 30mls is overly pessimistic IMO & I've done it in rush hr. jst san
We're now down two players. Got room for one more if you can make Feb 3rd!
Oh, and to answer Scott's questions: No, we'll make characters at the first session. Hero Lab is fine for use when playing, but not char creation. Peter: can you RSVP? Just want to get an accurate head count on the site. OTHER NOTES: I will have two Google documents you guys can (but don't have to) read before the meetup. One is the house rules and the other is the deity list for Agregor (a work in progress). I'll post the links soon.
I'd still love to play so if you folks ever decide to switch to Saturday afternoons let me know. Have fun!
OK...here are links to the documents you will want to peruse before coming to the game: Deities (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MY1mQpRT9n22EFJs9vDlbb...![]()
), House Rules (https://docs.google.com/document/d/12ss9Dwkdlze2H-Ws452bgi...![]()
), Races and Classes (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XkSpVO3_ONn_MSBvj9aj7R...![]()
). Let me know if you have any questions! Enjoy!
OK I've read the docs - question #1: "d2?s for hit points after 1st level". Does this mean that ALL classes get 1-2 HP (plus CON bonus) per level? If so, can you explain why you chose this path? question #2, prestige classes: you have specifically said that you are tailoring this to beginner and intermediate players. Prestige Classes are generally thought to be for more advanced players, so why include them in a beginner/intermediate game?
d2's: example: if you are a fighter you would roll 5d2's and not 1d10 (then add CON). So, the fighter would get 5-10hp. Make sense? Prestige Classes: this is a full class document for the entire campaign setting and not just this group. I fully expect the characters to advance to a point where prestige classes are viable. For advanced players, you may have already thought about the path your character wants to take. However, it would suck to have a full path laid out and then [next post->]
find out the prestige class you were hoping to go into isn't allowed. These classes were picked because of how I see the setting.
Yes d2's make sense now; It makes characters more survivable at low levels. I do something similar when I DM. I fully appreciate limiting prestige classes. In fact, in my world barbarians and sorcerers are not allowed at all (barbarians because my world is very "civilized" (no where for barbarians to train or come from) sorcerers because I use a spell system that makes them and wizards identical).
What prestige classes huh I will have to ask about thoes ones huh ima read thoes docs...
This shouldn't be an issue I hope I rock a elf rouge usually neutral- evil to chaotic evil so that's chill I will have to figure out the prestige classes and what not don't quite understand
Ah...I forgot: allowable alignments - LG, LN, N, NG, CG, CN. I've never done groups with any evil characters because of the difficulty in group dynamics. How bout CN? Also, don't worry about the P.Classes. It'll take about 5 levels before you could multi-class into one. Example: the Arcane Trickster p.class requires you to have levels of rogue and sorcerer and the ability to cast certain levels of spells, etc... They are fun to look at and think about, but I wouldn't worry about them now.
You can't be a rouge without evil tendancies and hunger to kill murder an Steal I guess you could be chaotic neutral I guess
Bilbo Baggins was a form of rogue. He stole and killed but wasn't evil in the least. I would say he was chaotic good. A rogue doesn't have to be stereotyped as thieving, murderous, conniving and deceitful. I guess it all depends on your character's definition of 'evil'. Does stealing make her evil? Does killing make her evil? Does your character use her talents of subterfuge and assassination to kill the evil wizard planning on taking over a king's lands? That's not evil in my book ;-)
TY Jason. I had the exact same feelings. But I didn't think It was my place to "judge"; at least that was how I felt all my potential posts were going to be viewed. So I just wrote out my feelings and never clicked post. Figured I would address it once we met.
Funny story though: I also generally do not allow evil aligned party members but in this last game I'm running a player convinced me to allow it. She & I agreed that it would be best to keep her alignment from the rest of the group. Funny part was when the cleric cast detect evil for the first time, I told him that he sensed evil immediately behind him. He though the party was being ambushed when in fact all he was detecting was the NE rogue :). From that point on he used detect chaos instead.
Weather is looking to be pretty crappy tomorrow. I'm not sure where everyone is coming from and I wouldn't want people driving in tha junk. Do you guys wanna postpone?
I was thinking the same thing, but if everyone else is willing, I'll be there.
Sadley my fridays are going to be filling up so I am going to have to drop.
Let's postpone then since we're now down to two players. I'll post a new date/time and you can all RSVP again.
I changed the date and time from Friday, February 03, 2012 at 7:00 PM to Friday, February 17, 2012 at 7:00 PM
Im better at texting um I will message you on fb or on here my number do you FB?? If so what your name
I don't use FB anymore. So yeah, just send me a message with your number and I can text you.
What does everyone think about meeting over at Enchanted Grounds (Highlands Ranch; County Line and Colo. Blvd.) for this first time?
I'm good with that...so long as they have wifi. J/k. It's fine even if they don't.
hey man sry i missed you all on fri i was sick as a dog so was my son id still love to play with you all i hope thats still chill...
Jason, Kate, and I met up at enchanted grounds but it was packed with MTG and other groups. Further, Jason cracked a tooth and had trouble talking and eating. We hung out at a local IHOP and just talked. Not sure of the status of the game at this point though because jason is also moving soon; the reason he moved the meetup to EG. I am more than willing to host (in the interim) but I live VERY north (98th and federal, in Westminster).
