It's about that time of year again, when we start looking forward to a February race trip. For two years, it was Sedona, AZ. Last year, we headed to Austin and had a fantastic race day. The common thread in the past three years is that even though the elevation was lower, the courses were still hilly.
So, finally, we're going to sea level and running a flat-flat-flat course. Time to check out New Orleans. The weather is almost identical to Austin at that time of year, with an average high of 65 degrees and an average low of 45. As far as elevation? Here are the course elevation charts:

So, yeah, we can all pretty much rock these races.
I'll provide more details as we get closer to the date, but there will most certainly be general merriment as well as options for sharing rental cars (or gigantic Suburbans stuffed with runners) and hotel rooms.
It will be a good time. Early registration discounts end October 31st! Go ahead and sign up.
(If you are going to do this race but are not interested in joining in on the group activities, then I hope you have a wonderful time, but there is no need to RSVP)
