Monthly Potluck: "Green Smoothies" Demo and George Pelton memorial collection

Come join us at our monthly potluck for delicious food and a demo (with samples) presented by Vilma Reynoso.  Gather at 6:00, eat at 6:30.

We'll also be accepting donations in memory of George Pelton, long time beloved community member who died recently. All money collected above rental costs will be given to Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary to honor George, who requested that no service be held and that donations in lieu of flowers should go to animal groups.

Following the potluck, Vilma will give a demo on green smoothies.  Green smoothies are all natural, blended, delicious, cleansing, nourishing, life-giving concoctions of raw fruits and vegetables that will enhance your life and improve your health. Learn how to create easy, tasty and healthy smoothies in this free presentation with certified Plant-based Nutrition (vegan) Wellness Coach and author, Vilma Reynoso, with VEG out with Vilms. Vilma will demonstrate how to create simple smoothies and you will take home some of her recipes from her eBook, Vegan Green Smoothies by Vilms: 35 Easy, Nutritious and Delicious Recipes for Ultimate Health and Vitality. Learn why smoothies are healthy and how they helped Vilma lose weight, eliminate conditions and ailments, and recover her health.

Bring a vegan dish--no meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, eggs or honey--to serve 8, with recipe card or list of ingredients, serving utensil, and your own reusable table service.  Donations accepted to cover rental fee and for Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary.

Rocky Mountain Miracle Center is convenient by car from I-25, as well as accessible by RTD bus (Route #40) and light rail (Colo. Blvd. station).

This potluck series is held every 4th Saturday of the month.  Upcoming dates: March 22 and April 26.

Vilma did a great job on the smoothies presentation as well. Telling her remarkable personal story about healing through a healthy diet, presenting simple but effective ideas for smoothies, plus giving everyone the chance to taste them and take recipes home was a winning combination!

Thanks Kate and Keith for a lovely event and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Kate. I left without seeing the photos of George and donating so please hold onto them so I can see them another time and I'll give you a donation next time I see you.

It will happen KG. Thanks for bringing the vegan cookies. I think 1 or 2 of the recipes last night I posted in the photos. Still ask us if you need help, search online for vegan ideas, check youtube or just be creative. You can't go wrong even with an organic salad--cut up the veggies, put in a bowl and you are done. Being a vegan is easy. Simple still tastes yummy.

Thanks Kristy! In fact, I have done just that ! I received my recon next generation Vitamix last week and astounded at the quality. It appears brand new, comes with new container and new books as well as a 5 year warranty , very pleased!

Hi, I am very interested in this one and what Vilma has to teach us. Does anyone have any recommendation on a preferred juicer or blender for daily use?
    Thanks!

Richard, sometimes you can get refurbished vitamixes from their website for a less than retail :)

Also, I recently used a Blendtec (also pricey!) and loved it, I would even say - a little more than my vitamix :)
