Raw Vegan Potlucks - officially called, RAWlucks - are BACK!
Come join us for a RAWluck every third SAT of the month starting in Jan, 2014! Come and enjoy wholesome, raw vegan food and get to know other vegans. You do not have to be officially a raw vegan to come. ANYONE is welcome, whether you are a new vegan, a seasoned vegan, a raw vegan or somewhere in between. You are welcome to invite your non-vegan friends as well!
What is raw vegan food?
Raw vegan food (also called, LIVE food) is nature’s food – food that grows on trees, vines, or in the ground and is uncooked, such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouted beans and grains. Raw food is free of animal products, organic, easy to digest, rich in enzymes, and highly nutritious. All of these delicious, natural foods are consumed whole, chopped, blended, shredded, diced and juiced to make very tasty meals.
Why is raw food more nutritious?
It contains live enzymes, which are needed to assist the body’s digestive enzymes in breaking down food into digestive proteins. Since raw foods are not heated above 115 degrees, enzymes are not destroyed in the cooking process, thus retaining a higher nutrient value and content than cooked foods.
Please bring your vegan raw meal of choice (no animal products and not heated over 115 degrees) for 6-8 people.
