Veganism and environmental action

We'll continue our discussion of how we can bring veganism to the center of public environmental awareness.

We'll meet 7 pm - 9 pm on Wednesday, November 28, at a member's home in southeast Denver, near DU. Anyone who feels so moved, please feel free to bring vegan snacks to share (no animal products -- no meat, fish, fowl, dairy, eggs, or honey). We'll also invite people from "Denver Energy Awareness" (a local group interested in resource issues) to come.

Let's brainstorm and come up with some ideas for public outreach, education, and community building. From various alternatives, we'll try to select one or more things we can actually do.  Exact location and directions will be e-mailed to everyone who RSVPs yes, as well as some notes from our previous meeting.

I'm not vegan yet but am really interested in changing my diet over to that. Want to learn more about it all and how to maintain a healthy diet - ie, get the right balance of protein, carbs and fat. Is it OK for me to attend? I live in the same neighborhood :)

Until we have a socially-oriented meetup where we could talk to you about dietary/health issues, check out these websites: nutritionfacts.org, pcrm.org, and drmcdougall.com.

I initially understood what the meeting is going to be about; just thought I would explain my particular situation. I'll hold off on going to meetings for now.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
