So, let's behonest. HOW MANY OF YOU WENT TO BE AT HALFTIME???? Yeah, you know who you are. We are down, but never out! Unfortunately, for 3 games, we realized that a little too late, but finally we were able to dig in, lock down, and realize out potential. On the road nonetheless. So let's get to the analysis at the bye week. The Broncos are sitting at the top of the AFC by virtue of a tie-break with out history making comeback against San Diego at 3-3. Our wins come in against, Pittsburgh, Oakland and San diego, a combined 8-10 with our losses coming against Houston, Patriots and Atlanta who all are division leaders and have a combined record of 16-4....you heard me, 16-4! So, sitting at 3-3 with the second hardest schedule in the NFL at the top of your division AIN'T too bad! So where to go from here, well, at this particular point in time, our schedule gets MUCH more favorable but as with the NFL it's any given Sunday and the Broncos will take it one game at a time. But let's play the odds here for Sh*ts and giggles. Our remaining 10 games at this point, we play 1 team, yes, ONE with a winning record and that will be Baltimore on Dec 16th...see you there. As for the division, we play SD one more time in Denver, KC twice and Oakland again, once in oakland. The rest of our schedule includes, the Browns, Bengals, Buccaneers, Panthers ALL very winnable games if we stay true to the form we show in the second half. What to work on, is a complete game!
I want to revisit the SD game for a minute, our achilles heal? Special teams. We actually dominated the Chargers in that they only scored one REAL TD going down the field, giving them a short field to score on 3 occasions accounting for 17 points. Furthermore, check out this statistic, the Brocnos have fumbled 9 times and have lost EVERY SINGLE FUMBLE. We have only recovered 4 fumbles from the other team this year. You can't WIN games with Turnovers! I feel as the team continues to grow, mistakes will be phased out. Let's take a look at our fearless leader. At this point in the season, he has thrown for 14TDs, 4INTs and 1800 yards, with 105.0 passer rating, After the loss in ATL he's thrown for 1200 yards, 1INT (which we all know Matt Willis will never live down), he's been basically flawless, back and on fire! The receivers are getting very acclimated to manning in which we have 3 receives in the top 20 in the NFL and no other has that advantage. Defensively, the strategy of keeping Keith Brookings as middle linebacker has played dividends. Look for increased development for our players, Moore, Carter and Harris. At this point, Fox and Elway have done a nice job in mixing veteren players with youth to help rotation incuding Jim leonard and Mike adams.
So what to expect Sunday night....a shootout? Anything is possible but most likely not. Broncos defense is beyond better than Tampa Bay AND the Buccaneers were able to score 34 points with Josh Freeman, who is not a very good and efficient QB. Make no mistake, the Broncos are far from an infallable team, but it doesn't half to be and THAT my friends is what needs to be noted, the potential RIGHT NOW to be Elite. I believe they have learned from their mistakes and coming back on SD will set a tone for this team to dominate from start to finish.
I shall see you all on Orange Sunday! I am a Broncos fan and I believe. I believe in Mile High Magic and Bleed Orange and Blue. I celebrate the drive and the Mile High Salute. I create the THUNDER, share in the common dream and will forever be a proud citizen of BRONCOS COUNTRY!"
