Open Mic Night: Current Projects

We need to get this group moving again. Let's get together and discuss some ideas for moving forward with this meetup. Once we get all of that business out of the way we will have some time for anyone interested to get up in front of the group and talk about any of their current projects that they would like to share.

Also, a quick welcome to Tavis Aitken as a new Co-Organizer. He is bringing a lot of great ideas to the table and will be a big help in organizing and scheduling upcoming events for the group!

Hopefully I will see you all on March 18th!

Good meetup, thanks for all who showed up! Matt and I will be working through the topics list we came up with and try and find some good speakers for all of us.

Nice to see some critical mass here and looking forward to tonight's meeting. I've been enjoying clustered services on AWS recently, specifically ElasticSearch. I can talk about building those clusters, load balancing them and configuring for auto-scale.

I have a few talking points I can go into if anyone is interested. Service Discovery w/ Eureka & implementing DuoSecurity for MFA.

Hey Tavis, thanks for reviving this! I think we're all doing some cool new things with new technologies that should facilitate some great talks. Looking forward to participating :)

I have a project I will be talking a bit about, a tool suite for AWS to give you the ability to:

1.) Add temporary holes to a security group. Allowing timed access and self cleanup.
2.) Schedule instance run times, so that you can have your non-prod environments shut down when you are not around.
