Jenn's "non spin class" ride Saturday 10 am 24 hour fitness Highlands Ranch

Hi all-

This may only work for those folks who have a membership to 24 hour fitness, but, certainly, while I know it doesn't work for all, that isn't a reason for me to NOT list it! I am sending an email, but will also post on the calendar. It has been forever since our Tuesday night Deer Creek rides so wanted to host something!

Wanted to invite anyone who has a 24 hour fitness membership to meet at the Dad Clark/Broadway location in Highlands Ranch in the spin room upstairs at 10 am (there is a class that the gym runs from 8:30 to 9:30 so thought that 10 am should be a safe time for the class to have cleared out). If you haven't ridden a spin bike, that is ok, I don't intend to "teach" a class to the group...the intent is to just have a way for us to connect and ride during these really cold days. The goal is to just get a good workout in and certainly all levels are welcome as there really is NO way that anyone can get lost or dropped on a spin bike in a gym! So, even if you have never ridden a spin bike, that is ok....I will gladly help since I did teach spin classes for several years.

I will have my daughter that day and she will be in the gym's childcare so after 11:30, I will go into Mommy mode and probably have to hurry to get out and get her lunch...but, if she is not overly tired, I would be up for going somewhere with the group to grab lunch (or, if I can't go, there is no reason that the others cannot!)

I believe the spin room has around 25-30 pretty many can join! Your road shoes will NOT work on the bikes...they have toe cages on them on one side and the other side is spd (so your mtn bike shoes will work...ok, ok...assuming you don't have time or speedplays or something! :)

I'm out of town Saturday but I think it's a great idea. Any chance we could get the room one night during the week and make it the winter version of Deer Creek?

5-6 would be tough but it also would be nice to get the group together once a week during the winter. I'd say it might be worth a try. Also the 24 hr fitness at I25 & Lincoln has a dedicated spin room and they don't have any spin classes on Thursday evenings so 6-7 would work if they will let us have the room.

Weekends in the winter are for skiing. But if it gets any drier, this may just work :) Can you see if maybe there is a drop-in fee for people who don't have a membership, but would like to come out for this?

Candice, I haven't heard of a "drop-in fee", but 24-Hour Fitness has a 3 day "free pass" if you just want to find out if you'll like it. I've had a couple of buddies try it for a few days. Here: http://www.24hourfitn...
