Hi Everyone,

Due to another round of late April snow and a Nuggets playoff game that will make parking tough, our April meetup has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for Tuesday, May 21st. We have some group members driving from pretty far, and would like Jordan's talk to get a good audience!

Our May meetup will be held at the new offices of Deloitte Digital (this is the same location as our February Meetup). Their office is located at[masked]th St., at the corner of Market and 16th St. in Denver.

Jordan Stone will be giving a talk on various Back Ends as a Service (I don't know that BEaaS is an actual acronym, but let's say that it is). With the recent release of Mattt Thompson's Helio and with the success of other services like Parse, I was planning on talking about the pros and cons of the services out there, and also touch on some of the benefits of rolling your own back end service using something like Rails.

Please RSVP if you plan on attending so we can get proper amounts of food and drink. Thanks to Deloitte Digital for providing the meeting space, food and beverage for this meeting!

    Hey all,

I know the question had come up about what some of these providers were using for THEIR back ends. I came across this today about Parse's cloudstack, and thought some of you may be interested.

Jordan, thanks for the talk. Here's another BaaS that I just found. It seems to support a good range of services and is open source.

It has SDK's for most major platforms, too.

Hey everyone, I've uploaded my slides from Tuesday night over in the "Files" section of this site. I will be pushing all source code (Xcode projects and Rails projects) up to my github later today. I will post again when that is complete.

Hey everyone! I just found out that one of my clients needs to hire another developer. Great folks based in the UK doing medical apps. I will be at the meetup tonight, give a shout if anyone is interested

Hi Matt. I can't make it tonight but I see you're in Boulder and I'd love to talk. Would you be interested in meeting for coffee Wednesday? You can reach me at davidkovsky on gmail.

What time will the talk start and how long will it go? Is there anything going on besides questions/mingling after the talk?

    Thanks!

Hey Ben! The meetup starts at 6:30, so I will probably start rambling around 7. The whole talk shouldn't be more than an hour, including questions. People are welcome to stay for a bit afterwards to continue talking and/or mingle.

I'm doing a lot with BaaS and PaaS options and would love to talk to more people about the subject.

I'll obviously be hanging around afterwards and would be happy to answer whatever questions I can. I'll also be leaving time at the end of the presentation for some open discussion.

I am in dire need of an iphone app developer....a RELIABLE developer. I need a couple apps developed asap. My company is located here in Colorado. If you're interested please contact me! I know this isn't really the proper place but I've tried everywhere else to hire a developer and haven't found anyone.

Of course the forecast of non-stop snow until Wednesday was wrong :) But in any case, wanted to make sure everyone saw that this is moved back a week to next Tuesday, April 23rd.
