Overview
Douglas County Information Technology is a recognized leader in developing innovative software using modern and relevant tools and methodologies. We have an immediate need for an experienced Sr. Software Engineer who is interested in creating software and technology solutions that support the County's mission to increase its transparency and provide valuable services.

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for leading the analysis and design, development, unit testing, maintenance, and support of Douglas County business applications implemented in software.

JAVA APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT - TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of six years of experience developing web applications with Java, Java Enterprise Edition (JPA, Enterprise JavaBeans, JavaServer Pages, Servlets, etc.), related Java API’s (JNDI, JDBC, etc.), XML, SQL, and HTML is required.
  • A minimum of four years of experience with systems integration, application architecture, application security, database design, and object-oriented design is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience with, Web Services (RESTful and SOAP), familiarity with Javascript Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Server Side MVC Framework (Apache Struts, Spring MVC or similar), is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience with Oracle DBMS and/or Microsoft SQL Server, Java Annotations and Context Dependency Injection, Scrum (or similar Agile methodology), JavaScript MV* Frameworks and automated build and testing tools (e.g., Ant, Maven, Spock, Gradle, JUnit) is also required.
  • Experience with JBoss 7+, GIT, HTML 5, CSS3, AngularJS, Bootstrap, Javascript build and testing frameworks (e.g., Protractor, Karma, Yeoman, Jasmine, etc.) is strongly desired.
