Trailwork with MiniCrew

  • Jun 21, 2012 · 5:30 PM
  • This location is no longer available

After-work trail care right in our backyard. Help out our sport! It's hard to say no to this, since it's so close and, let's face it, undemanding on one's available time for mtn biking. :)

Time: 5:30pm - until the sun starts to go down

Location: Matthews-Winters Park. Meet in parking lot at the main trailhead. Look for the shovels. We're obvious. :)

What to bring: work gloves, water (e.g., hydration pak), clothing layers, comfortable shoes (e.g., hiking shoes), & snacks (if you're like me & can't live without dinner before 7pm)

Registration is encouraged. Register here:

The PlanWe will work along the Village Ride trail. There will be something for everyone, from light trimming and pruning, to the more moderate task of clearing drains.

MiniCrew is a group local mountain bikers in Jefferson County, Colorado that created a volunteer program to assist in the maintenance on JeffCo Open Space Trails. The Mini Crew Program is designed as an after-work-couple-of-hours volunteer opportunity. Meeting on the 3rd Thursday of the month May through September, these mountain bikers join efforts to proactively improve trail conditions and spread goodwill to all trail users.

There are 3 more scheduled throughout the summer: July 19, August 16, and Sept. 20. I will post them as the date draws closer.

***There is NO excuse for using the trails & not giving back to the mtn biking community.***

It was great to give a little back after riding on all the great trails around here. Thanks to everyone that helped organize and direct us! And I'm sorry if Onyx jumped on you (that's directed to just about everyone :)

This was my first time doing trailwork and I thought it was great. The group was very helpful in teaching me the ropes and I made some new riding friends. :)

Thanks for posting this Christine! We will be back at Matthews/Winters again. It was so much fun last time, why not do it again?

Where do you live? I'm down in west Littleton and can give you a ride if you're somewhere close...

Hi my names Marc, I joined the Meetup, but haven't been able to get in on any rides yet. I love doing trailwork almost as much as I do riding my MTN bike! I don't have a car, but would like to Meetup and do some work on The Trails! Is there any way I could catch a car ride with someone?
