Tues night MTB ride - Apex

This weeks ride will be on Tues for 2 reasons:
1. Tues is an even day so we can ride down Enchanted Forest
2. The presidential debate is Wed and a portion of I25 is closed starting at 5pm on Wed.
So.... We will meet at the lower Apex lot at 5:30 and quickly get on the trail by 5:40 so we can have enough time for a loop.
Based on the following rating scale, this will be a difficult (level 4) physical and technical ride.
This rating system has 2 components: 1. A physical rating 1-5 and a technical rating 1-5. This scale is still in the works and is open to feedback by the way. Mountain bike meetup group rating scale:

Easy (1)


less than 6 miles
less than 1,000ft elevation gain
short, gradual climbs


smooth hardpack with minimal obstacles
basic handling skills

Moderate (2)


6-10 miles
elevation gain: 1,000-1,500
steep grades, but not extended


smooth hardpack with some obstacles
medium handling skills

Intermediate (3)


10-20 miles
elevation gain: 1,200-1,800
steep grades, but not extended


rocky trail surface, small/medium obstacles
solid handling skills

Difficult (4)


10-20 miles
elevation gain: 1,500-2,000


rocky trail surface, medium/large obstacles
technical handling skills

Advanced (5)


15+ miles
elevation gain: 2,000+


rocky trail surface, large obstacles, drops
technical handling skills
