Dinosaur Ridge Followed by Lunch

Walk where dinosaurs roamed 150 million years ago! This is a leisurely hike with actual dinosaur footprints and fossils along the path. We'll meet at the visitor center and leave hike along the trail together. Make sure to work up an appetite because we'll decide on a place for lunch afterwards!

p.s. I just laughed out loud when I saw my new title. Thanks, Muj. I feel like I really belong now. Though I'm not sure how I feel about the cowgirl label... so conflicted... sigh.... ;)

I maybe a few minutes late though... I should be able to run and catch up to you. Please do not worry about waiting for me if I am not there at 11.

Its not a long hike or any tough hike - almost all of the elevation gain (Apprx less than 500 feet )is in first quarter mile of the hike and then it is pretty easy as we will just walk/hike along the ridge that gives us Green Mountain/Denver/Lakewood/Golden views to the east and Mt. Morrison/Red Rocks/Front range to the west

If the weather is nice then I suggest you guys get off the ridge and cross the road and take a trail into red rocks.. this will turn it into 8 mile hike from 4 mile hike. But it still is going to be not terribly difficult

Salaam AB :) , When I looked at the site, it said the dino ridge trail was 2-3 miles roundtrip. So I'm wondering if I'm looking at the wrong place if you're saying 4 miles? I won't have time for 8 miles for sure, but am happy to turn back on my own while everyone else keeps going if you all want to do the longer hike. See you all tomorrow, insh'Allah.

    • Reed

Yeah, I definitely do not think I will be able to do the 8 miles as well.

For lunch I would suggest The Morrison Inn...they have a pretty nice rooftop patio up there.

Is a stopover at Red Rocks planned after the hike and before lunch? It's a must-see for anyone who hasn't been there before.
