Prepping is more successful when people meet in person.

We hear more and more about things happening around the world and here in our own country. Phone meetings work good and meeting on line is like speaking to an on line classroom. I feel that a meetup or otherwords a fire side chat be arranged. This will be the most informative and knowledgeable social gathering that we could all benefit from each other. I beleive someone should take charge and organize such a gathering. Some where central to the city works, but a location such as a state park or an out of city location would work the best.
Any preppers willing to take their skill and knowledge to share with others in groups would be most effective. This will allow people to get to know each other and socialize on a more personal basis.

I agree with Dane...we need to get this group together and find a way to meet. Information is invaluable and we need to share it!

    6. Fire starting materials
    7.Rain Gear.
    8. Hunting knife/Survival knife. (2) of them. Sog NW Ranger with a Kydex sheath that holds a fire starter. Custom made. I will get a Hogue survival knife soon at Cabelas. It costs $250.00
    Pocket stove.
I will have more stuff. I just don't have them yet.

    FUTURE ITEMS:

    Crossbow/arrows-Field sharpener-Dried food-Collapsible fishing pole-Snares-Water purifier pills-Glow sticks-

That's pretty much it. If I have to bug out than shit has hit the fan. I live in the country so I hope I don't have too! Do all of you have these items? I need a small bugout bag in my car. I'm NOT worried about another country invading us. There's nothing I can do in that type of situation. This isn't Red Dawn LOL. enjoy

I hope some of the items I have listed helped some of you here who do NOT have some of this stuff. I forgot to mention a wind up radio. It is also a power source too. The have them at Cabelas. We should all go there and raid the place! Buy everything they have LOL. Than we will be prepared.

Maybe we can all share what we pack in our bugout bag. I'll post what I have and see if you have the same supplies. I look forward on meeting all of you.

Does anyone live around the Parker area? Everyone here seems to live in Denver. This is the only group I could find near me. Just wondering. I love the show Dooms Day Preppers and Dooms Day Castle. I do prep for my car in case I get stuck in a blizzard. I got stuck once. I was half a mile from my house and a person in a Jeep picked me up. Thank God! Shit happens. I live in the country so I need to have the right essentials in my car.

Does anyone hunt in this group and have skinned an animal? Does anyone here know how to make a shelter or start a fire using a bow drill? I have a few skills. I do watch a lot of survival shows and videos. I have learned a lot. I never taken a survival course. I want to. I do plan on it soon. I did join a meetup group here with a guy who teaches that stuff. I can give you his meet up page if you want. He teaches how to use a bow drill.

I'm learning like you, I hope to do a class as well.

I know how to hunt and skin an animal. I don't know how to smoke it and dehydrate the meat in the woods. They do that in Alaska. The people who live in the middle of nowhere. They have to. I do know a lot. I can build a shelter. There are short term and long term shelters. I have subscribed to some good youtube videos. I will post some here so you can watch and subscribe to them.

What are we prepping for? I know a lot of things are going on but what are we prepping for? I do stock up on ammo. I have a bug out bag but I don't have a place to go. I know of an area but it's 6 hours away. There is a water pump there and tons of lakes and wild game. Does everyone here have a place to go in case of an emergency or an contingency plan? I live in Parker. Are there groups around here or anyone who lives around here?

    Thank you.

I prep for if Yellowstone goes up, dirty bomb, bad storms. I'm new so still working on things.

      September 22, 2013

If YellowStone goes up than that means toxic gas will pollute the air. The whole state of Wyoming will be in a state of chaos or just dead right? Wouldn't you need a gas mask and to be underground? I am prepping for a state of chaos and rioting. I think this country is going to go in a state of chaos. With a dirty bomb wouldn't you have to be isolated in a building? The biological germs will be everywhere. Like on vehicles, all the food, buildings ext.. How do you prepare for something like that? It's good but do you have the resources for that? It's like radiation. Once it gets out, it's out and it will kill you. It's a slow death! I think there's going to be a race riot or something. It's getting bad. It's mainly young black teens and middle age men causing this. I do think our government will try to take our guns away. He's already trying too! He wants to make this count

The meetup was terrific and I so enjoyed meeting everyone. I did an email to the organizer re: website, but have not heard anything back. I am losing my window to work on it for a couple months as I have 3 new projects to jump start. Hopefully, we can get something organized for this summer in that regard. Look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Anyone in need of 55 gallon drums, please meet with me before hand, or after the meeting. [masked]-6396. My warehouse near 40th and Steel, I meet people at Mr A's bar, which is far easier to find. Short drive to or from Bass Pro.

I have clean food grade open top plastic with locking on lid 35 or 3/100.$35 for clean food grade plastic with lock on lid and 2 bungholes in the lid. Not clean close top plastic just 2 bungholes contained agave $20. Non food grade plastic open top with locking lid $20. Open top steel with locking lid $25. Buckets $2 each. 20 gallon brute containers $5 add $1 for lid.

      1 · April 24, 2013

    • Trash T.

The non food grade plastic drums are clean and had shampoo, conditioner, lotion type products. I would not use them for drinking water. They are fine for composting and rain collection fir your garden. I would suggest taking the lid off and letting them air out in the sun a few days so they loose their scent. I normally have over 100 drums in stock.

We could probably use the meeting room at no cost too, it's decent size. They host my Bass club and it fits about 30 people. I'll give them a call to see if we can use the room if everyone is up for it.

Why is it so hard to pick a place to meet? I live in Fort Lupton and I'm willing to drive anywhere. Just pick a place and whoever shows up, shows up. It's not like we live in LA where everything is a 2 hour drive.
