I won't be able to attend; hope that frees a spot that someone takes!

Dylan - Thanks for freeing up a spot!

I thought this went really well considering it was the first one. Looking forward to next month. Do we have suggestions for topics? Maybe using one of the cocoa frameworks with swift?

Dave Batton stepped up and said he's going to present on creating a simple iOS app in Swift
Is there any way you guys can set up the next one for a bigger venue? I really wanted to go, but was wait-listed :(
Stephen - We're going to try and get a bigger room next time; we're still trying to coordinate space with galvanize.
Regarding double-quoted characters, this from the head of the Swift team:
"Note that Character is still evolving and will settle down by the final release of 1.0. One of the reasons that we use double quote syntax to initialize Characters is that they are expected to be able to hold full grapheme clusters, which are composed of multiple code points."

I thought Frank did a great job and I look forward to the next one.

I thought it was a great introduction and am looking forward to more!

Thanks, I will be there.

I too changed my RSVP to no going. I have a conflict with tonight's meeting.
Thanks for the update Phillip -- maybe next month!
I've just changed my RSVP to "not showing up". Work issues to deal with, so that should free up a spot on the waiting list!
Thanks Brian - I appreciate you are willing to free up a spot.
You should change the date to not conflict with Denver CocoaHeads

Thanks Christopher - I will try to deconflict it for next month.

We can meet at Galvanize (11th & Speer). I can reserve a room.

Thanks Dave - I might have another space that may be available (nothing against Galvanize). A company may be interested in hosting the first meeting so I'm waiting to work out the details. Cool?

That's cool. Just let me know ASAP if you want to do it here so I can be sure to get room saved.
Dave - what's the capacity on the room you were looking at?
We have a conference room that can accommodate 40 people. Includes a large screen TV.
If we need more, we could probably set up in the atrium with over 100 people, but I don't know the specifics on using that space offhand.
Well, looks like the other space can only hold 20 and we're at 29 RSVPd currently. If you can book it, please do, and let me know what you need from me.

I'll also cap the meetup at 40 then by COB today.
OK, I've reserved the room.

I should have an outline of the agenda for the 7/8 meeting sent out by the end of this week. If there's anything you want covered (aside from what you mentioned when you signed up), please just msg me.
As for meeting locations, free parking is a huge bonus!
1 · June 9, 2014
2 hr street parking is free at Galvanize, and there's no time limit after 6PM.
