Why do you want to learn German?

No answer yet

Please tell us about your German :-)

I learnt German for a couple of years in high school. However, it was by distance education and I did not therefore engage in speaking. That was 35 years ago and I have forgotten most of what I learned. I began learning again with DerDieDas in September last year.

What do you find hardest about learning German?

Listening/Speaking. When I write I have time to think about the vocabulary, sentence structure and grammarand to correct it. When listening I sometimes find myself initially panicking that I cannot understand and have to make myself push past that to focus and concentrate on what is being said. When speaking I use so much concentration on finding the words that their is no head space left to think about sentence structure and grammar. It is enough effort to just get something out.

I am of Australian and Austrian descent. I work as the Coordinator of Special Education at my school. I love meeting people and getting to know them.
