What we’re about

Mondays, 6:45 pm - 8:45 pm

The Shambhala Meditation Center of Chicago continues to offer the Monday Night Sitting Group in Des Plaines at the Des Plaines Public Library. We offer sitting and walking meditation from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m., followed by reading and discussion from 8:00 – 8:45 p.m., with some social time in between. Usually, you can find us in the Public Meeting Room C on the ground floor of the library, to the left of the entrance.
Occasionally we may be in one of the study rooms upstairs. The specific event info will be updated with the correct location when that happens.

All are welcome. Meditation instruction will be provided for those who are new to sitting meditation. We are currently reading Eckhart Tolle's book "The Power of Now."

Donations from participants are warmly appreciated! They help us cover the cost of rent and Meetup fees. Please, make your donation here or through Paypal here. Please, include "Des Plaines" in the comments section. Thank you so much!
We are a 503(b) organization.

"Shambhala is about the path of warriorship, or the path of bravery, that is open to any human being who seeks a genuine and fearless existence."

We are looking forward to seeing you soon!
