Lake Pleasant Easter Egg Paddle 3/30 3PM

Saturday, 3/30/13 3pm - 5PM, 4-lane launch area of Lake Pleasant Regional Park

Come Join the fun as we seek out "Easter Island." We will plan on a stop to see if the Easter bunny owns a kayak and left something good for us. Don't forget your dry bag to use as a basket! This social paddle will be less than four miles and last about two hours. You can always paddle more afterward, if you need some more exercise. Special eggs will have hidden secrets that you can redeem back at the launch area. Open to all but you must wear your life vest when on the water. Come join the journey and exploration on "Easter Island."

Not all introduced species are invasive because they may have a natural predator- ME- that will eat them in their new environment.

FIVE STARS TO MARK FOR THE GREAT PICTURES DOCUMENTING THE LAKE PLEASANT EASTER EGG ISLAND PADDLE!!! And it looks like we are gaining more invasive species to the lake, elephants?

We had the perfect day, nice temps, some shade clouds and no wind. We had about 65 kayaks and 72 people. THANKS TO THE VOLUNTEERS FOR COMING OUT EARLY AND HIDING THE 1000+ EGGS! In 100 of those eggs we had hiden coins that were redeemed back at Fireman's Cove. Some prizes were tickets for a family of four to Wet & Wild Water Park, gift cards and coins to several stores, cookie packs, flashlights, mega gum packs, and chapstick (well everyone needs that). The two miles out and then two miles back was just right, we did not lose anyone, not even Lucy, who was brave and did the whole paddle with no sight. Easter Egg Island proved to be the perfest island, relatively flat, no snakes, lots of trees and grass to hide the eggs in creative ways, and large enough to make it challenging for everyone. I did not see anyone without eggs, so I hope everyone had a good time. Thanks everyone who came out to the fun!

Fantastic day on LP and thanks to Terry & Nancy for the great effort put into it. So good seeing everyone and it was awesome to be back in a kayak after 6 months of recup and to know I can still do it! Appreciate the kindness of everyone helping me out.

I still could use a few volunteers to come early, paddle out and hide eggs (12PM, high Noon). Just meet me at Fireman's Cove at Noon.

Directions: Turn at mile post 19 on HWY 74, proceed on Castle Hot Springs Road, go five mile and you will reach a stop sign (by this time you will see my event signs, just follow them). You will turn right into the park, pay your $6 per vehicle and $2 per watercraft park entry fee, then follow the road until you see the event signs that lead you to Fireman's Cove, where we will launch. I will have event signs out with something like "Easter Egg Island Paddle."
