Glad to see everyone. Had a grand time. Hope we can get people involved to set up the next paddle fest since Terry won't be able to do it. Everyone have a great summer and look forward to see ya in the upcoming meets. Hats (both) off to Terry for pulling off another great paddle fest. Thanx Terry

Well I finally stood up on a SUP! And we stopped by & chatted with Ron in the DMP oasis booth. My only complaint is that when we arrived at about 10 AM, there were no Maricopa County life jackets available. We SUP'd with the vendors jacket & gave it back. We were unable to try the kayaks without a jacket, so we left without doing so...

We had just under 800 signed waivers (people going on the water. We also saw a good number of friends and family members who came with those people who did not go on the water and did not need to sign the waiver, so I am thinking at the low end 1000 people and at the high end 1200 people.

Might be coming out for a bit. Been sick all week, will see if I'm up for it.
QUESTION: Is there a moonlight paddle Saturday Night? If so what time?

If you are bringing your own paddle craft to Paddle Fest, please print out a sign that says, “Personal water craft belonging too xxxxx, not a demo, do not use“. Place this in your water craft. It does not hurt to keep an eye on your equipment too.

I fixed the map. To bring it up go back to the top of this page where it says "Lake Pleasant". At the end of the next line you should see the "(map)". Click there.

    Hi guys,
I'm so looking forward to meeting up with you all. I'll be with my wife and son and was wondering do we rent these canoes there? Or are we suppose to already have canoes? Please let me know. Thx

    April 22, 2013

    • Ron, the Canoe G.

There will be lots of demo boats that you can paddle around inside the cove for free. There will also be a vendor with rentals if you wish to go longer, outside of the cove.

If you plan on coming out Friday night 4/26 and want to join us for the BBQ and pot luck at 5PM, email Greg with your order and bring a dish. Here is his message:

Hello Paddlers! It is that time of year again. If you are interested getting some fantastic barbeque from Pork On A Fork for Friday night’s dinner. Send me an email with what you want by Wednesday the 24th. Going to try to limit to either pulled pork or beef brisket – both are excellent. They also have good beans and potato salad to keep the side orders to a minimum.

Cash will need to be in my hands before the food gets near your mouth on Friday evening.

    See you there,

    Greg

Reminder, if you wish to volunteer a few hours at paddle Fest on Saturday 4/27, I will have a sign up sheet with times to be on the water watching people and boats. I will have all demo paddle craft marked in some fashion so you will know which boats to keep in the bay. Just see me and sign up at the event for a few hours, that would make me very happy!
