Saturday, after breakfast load up and head upstream.
We'll explore a hot spring, canyons, waterfall, Sauna Cave.
We'll camp Saturday night.
Sunday paddle back to willow beach, exploring on the way and finishing before 1.
Check the photos and details from last year's Oct. 7, 2011 trip

Highly recommend Desert River outfitter's in Bullhead for renting Kayaks.
They have Ocean Kayak, Scuper-Pro's, SI 149  or Jackson Day-tripper's for $65 for 2 days delivered, if you mention your a member of a meet-up group, so  you can pick and return them at Willow Beach. (bring our own paddle and a spare, they're paddles were heavy and too durable built)
They also have a great map showing all the attractions they can e-mail you.

This trip had it all. Great weather. 22 miles of paddling, 8 big horn sheep, climbing waterfalls fed by thermal springs in three canyons, two star-lite nights, one pool fed by a hot spring at the top of a 20' ladder and running into some good friends along the way.
Almost forgot the blue stunt-plane playing Starwars fifty feet off the water down the canyon.

Not going to be able to make it, got a call today for a job interview on monday and need to prepare for it. I did however already rent a kayak from Desert River, so if anyone needs one just let me know. Sorry so short notice.

Ugghhh! After 1.5 hours at Cabela's yesterday, I am sad to pull out of this amazing adventure. Main reason is I need to help a family member out tomorrow & a class member dropped out of my master's research group so crisis mode for class the next few days. Ohhh, I am bumm'd out! Enjoy and have fun...without me :,(

Wish I was going. Something came up that I will not be going with you all. Hope to see you soon.

We've requested the Ocean Kayak SI 149, the sit insides have room for your gear and length enough for good hull speed for paddling upstream.

Helen said that if you put your items into smaller dry bags instead of big ones, that it is easier to get things through the hatch and will leave you more room in the kayak. She was very easy to work with when I called!

Anyone interested in carpooling together? If some/all of us are renting kayaks or canoes, then that makes it easier to carpool. I get off work at 4 pm on Thursday, and would like to either have more people in my car or get a ride with someone. I will be renting a kayak.

I noticed most of us are doing the Salt this coming Saturday. If you can budget the time, lets meet for lunch afterwards and discuss the trip. I can bring the map from Helen and answer any questions. Hope to paddle with you all this Saturday.

What are the coordinates where we are meeting? Or is there going to be a group following each other on the road?

Desert River Outfitters, Helen Howard's company is great to work with. She's a friend and fellow paddler. Regarding the power boat restrictions, lower horsepower power boats are not restricted all the time after Labor day, just Sunday-Monday.
Here's the official word from the NPS website.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
