Design Parley - Let's Talk Design, Cookies and Code

Join us for a relaxing get together after work to discuss the big elephant in the room, coding! Design and code go hand in hand.  In fact we're no longer in the age where your designs are handed off to a development team.  It's best that they work together throughout the process.

We'll try to discuss the different tools that are being used in both design and development. With the overwhelming number of frameworks and tools out there, it is difficult to know which one to invest your time in learning.  We're here to share ideas, ask questions, and help others out with design!

It was fun to meet you all last night. T'was an interesting free-flowing discussion. I thought I would do a little link dump while I was saying hi:

    http://mailchimp.com/2012/
The MailChimp Annual report that Paul mentioned. Elegant use of fixed positioning, transitions the usual design goodies like typography, hierarchy, colour etc. It really struck me too when it came out.

Some more finger-candy on this front:

+ there are a bunch of themes on the googles:

I struggled to think of this when we where briefly discussing storytelling. Fun use of some bleeding edge html5-trickery from the Chrome team a few years back.

Just for Derrick, a random Agile link from my bookmarks:

    Cheers y'all!
