Introduction

Hi! My name is Rortanak Sy but all my friends call me Ror. I'm a graduate of West Virginia University (Let's Go Mountaineers). I'm currently a User Experience (UX) Designer for AddThis, Advertising Products (Top Social Data/Tech Company) in McLean.

Why are you passionate about design?

It was an unexpected choice but I knew I wanted to do something creative, innovative and help change the way we view and experience the world. Design has been a part of my life for the past 5 years and I continue to love every moment of it. The excitement to see something you create come alive is just a wonderful moment. It's always awesome to design amazing things and see others in your profession with the same drive, passion, desire, and love create incredible things.

What sort of designer do you consider yourself?

I would consider myself a designer who wants to change the way people interact, and the experience they have with everything around them - this could be a product, service, software, web, etc. I'm not just about making things look "good" because first and foremost it's to make sure it's functional, simple to use and understandable to the users.
