Curious to learn how design thinking can help change DC? Join us to celebrate the design thinking community and the Summer of Design! At this event, we are inviting those who have not participated in the Summer of Design to see the results that the eleven teams have produced through their design challenges. Summer of Design participants need not sign up for this event, as their attendance is already accounted for.
The DT:DC Summer of Design has provided a facilitated, team-based design thinking experience for local impact through a series of events where DT:DC members use design thinking to address real problems faced by organizations in our local community. The six-week design challenge is currently underway. More than 60 innovators on 11 teams of design thinkers are currently working feverishly to develop solutions for three different design challenges provided by Internews, DC Action for Children and the Performance Improvement Council (General Services Administration). Learn more about the design challenges and the purpose of the SOD here.
This awards ceremony will feature a "show and tell" of the design solutions these teams created over 6 weeks, announce the winners of the design challenges, and provide an environment for community celebration. The event will be largely structured around eating, drinking, learning, celebrating, and sharing—the makings of a great event!
Disclaimer: If you are a DT:DC member that has participated in the Summer of Design challenge, please do NOT register for this event. As a Summer of Design participant, we already have you signed up to attend! This registration is for additional members of the DT:DC community.
The Wait List Process:
The Meetup.com Wait List function works on a first come first served basis. This means that when a seat opens up, the people on the Wait List will all get an email notifying them that a space has become available. The first person to login to Meetup and claim the seat will get the space. When spaces become available, they usually get claimed within 1-5 minutes so you must act quickly.
