Would you like to be part of a global 48 hour global event to design our way out of some the wickedest problems around?
That's what the Global Sustainability Jam 2012 is all about. Next weekend (Nov 2-4), designers, thinkers and doers will gather in over 70 locations world wide for a global jam to solve some of the wickedest problems relating to sustainability and the environment.
Hong Kong's chapter of the event is being run by the Yes Network - and they've done a fantastic job of creating an inspirational event which will be held at Hong Kong University.
I'll be attending the event as a mentor this time, but i've attended past events in Australia, and I have to say it's a remarkable event - a whole lot of fun, great for stretching your brain and meeting interesting people!
Attendance for the event is capped at 50, and right now we have about 30 really interesting people from across Hong Kong's NGO & Social Entrepreneurship scene coming along. It'll be a great opportunity for anyone interested in innovation, entrepreneurship and design to come along and test their skills while making some great connections!
The event is all about creativity and FUN! It's a jam, so expect to riff some crazy ideas with some cool people, and have the chance to produce them into a real solution (in the form of a product or service) over a single weekend.
You can see the Hong Kong site for Jam here.

For the weekend of November 2 - 4. We'll be starting on Friday evening with a light mixer and dinner, and kicking off the event with some great speakers. On saturday we'll begin the jam properly, and everyone will work competitively in teams as the weekend progresses and we move to showcasing out solutions on Sunday afternoon!
$380 HKD for the weekend, from Friday evening all the way through to Sunday evening. This includes usage of the venue, provision of materials and six delicious meals. Pretty awesome value for 48 hours of design fun!
(Students can get tickets at $280 HKD).
