I am planning a trip to Arches NP in April.
It needs 2 days off for office [thurs and friday].
Since I will be switching work locations between FTW and NJ, I booked from NJ to DENVER but flight tickets from DFW to DEN are very cheap. So if you are interested you could plan to coordinate with below timings-
6.35pm - 9.13pm [EWR to DEN] US AIRWAYS
11:59pm - 5.36am [DEN to EWR] US AIRWAYS
After reaching DENVER - 5 drive to Moab, utah [Thurs]
Devil garden trail:7.2miles [about 3hrs]
if possible -end the day with a boat tour wine and dine viewing the famous dark nights of NP
Delicate Arch [tentative] rest of the day-Arches National Park Driving Tour covering main sightseeing points [double o arch] or some more hikes
45min drive to Canyonland National Park from Arches N.P!
Best sunrise hike-Mesa Arch Trail: This easy trail leads to a dramatic cliff-side arch.
Grand View Trail[2mile/1hr]: This short hike along slick rock cliffs captures the essence of the “Island in the Sky.” A sheer mile below the trail, the gorges of the Colorado and Green Rivers join to form Cataract Canyon, and in the distance, the odd promontories of the Needles District punctuate the skyline.
False kiva trail[1.6m,1-3hrs]
good breakfast! and drive back [we can stop over at scenic points]
5 hour drive back
We will be planning for cabin or camping or hostel for more fun [Lazy Lizard Hostel is famous here].
But you are free to plan yourself for a good hotel and join the group at the timings.
TRANSPORT: Will be booking the vehicle based on the group size and sharing the price accordingly [rental+gas].
Hiking , Rafting [if weather permits], Driving through the NPs.
Also please note that this is not a organized trip from travel agent rather a personal trip planned and looking for like minded people with same destinations in there bucket list :) or enthusiastic about it; so group bookings of accommodation +gas+ car rentalsor anything in common will be equally shared. Also we will be booking cars as well as accommodation soon once we get an idea of the group size.
This has been notified in a NJ meetup too and so would be a great trip with more people in.
