Arab American National Museum - Film Event!

Greetings,

On Friday, September 6th at 7:30pm, the Arab American National Museum (AANM) will be screening the film, “Tomorrow We Will See.” It is an extraordinary film centering around 10 different Lebanese artists who use their artwork as a way to overcome political and sectarian strife and help guide Lebanon to a brighter future and overcome the uncertainty of what tomorrow may bring. The film is relatable to anyone who is a lover of art, or craves knowledge about Lebanon's history and culture.

Immediately after the film, we will be speaking with director, Soraya Umewaka through SKYPE where the audience is able to engage with the director of the film. And if that wasn’t enough reason to check out the film, half of the proceeds will go to the nonprofit Syria Relief and Development charity!

I went, front doors were locked, went around the back, did not see a single soul, left around 7:35

Don't know where you went. The back doors were open. We went in just before 7:30. There were people inside greeting and directing us downstairs to the theatre. Movie didn't start until 7:45 or so. People were coming in continuously.

Thanks, sorry I missed it. I guess I was a little too hasty. The locked up, no sign posted or anything like that by the front of the building threw me off. The back of the building seemed to be completely inactive.

I wont make it either. Same sentiment as Mark. Hope to hook up in the future. Have heard a lot of positives on this group.

Really sorry for the last minute notification, but I will be unable to make it tonight due to illness. I was anxious to attend my first event.

I was really looking forward, but not 100% sure now. Too much swimming, biking, yoga over Labor day and hurt my back! Will let you know.

I have an M.A. in history, which I am not using. It would be nice to talk to other history buffs.

This looks like a great event and a compelling film. We are also working with Dave and the team at the museum to plan an event for our Ethnic History Series.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
