Freestyle Drunk History: What would you change in Detroit's past?

If you could change one thing in Detroit's past, what would it be?

Would you undo the surrender of Fort Detroit in 1812? Keep the streetcars, or build a subway instead? Do you wish we had stayed a French city? Would you save a favorite building? Make a policy change? Re-elect Pingree? Convince Motown to stay in Motown?

Bring your brightest ideas about the past and the future to the third meeting of the Detroit Drunken Historical Society on April 26 at Slow's BBQ on Michigan Avenue. We'll talk, drink, talk more and drink more in a free-flowing, side-tracking, imagination-expanding open discussion, supplemented by the amazing bourbon & beer selection at Slow's.

I had a great time and look forward to attending in the future. My only issues were have to choose between Beer and water, and the pay issue.

This was my first meetup ever and I had a great time. I'll definitely be at the next meetups and would be happy to help with organizing or brainstorming for future events.

When Slows is busy on weekends I park a couple blocks down in the Gaelic League Parking lot - not sure if its legal, but I have never had a problem...

There is a community parking lot across Michigan Ave from Slow's (behind Mercury Burger Bar) that has parking available for $2

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
