Dennis Coffey: Guitars, Bars and Motown Superstars

Dennis Coffey was in the elite band of musicians who helped create the Motown sound. As a member of the Funk Brothers studio band, Coffey played on dozens of recordings for Motown Records. And he loves the history of Detroit music. Thanks to Todd Scott (one of our speakers for the underground railroad meetup), Dennis Coffey has agreed to hang out with our crew: he will give a brief talk on music in Detroit, take questions from our group and then perform on stage with his band. He'll also have copies of his book and CDs to sell--so bring some extra cash in case you're moved to pick up some legit Detroit tchotchke.
