    A good design avoids Skeuomorphism.

    A logo should clearly be identifiable in terms of positive and negative space. For example, IBM, AT&T, Apple, and the CBS "eye". Photos, sketches and illustrations are not easily recognizable.

    I like the idea of the stein/glass in one hand, pitcher in the other, but happen to like the phrase about history not being dry that someone had suggested elsewhere. Although, "that's the spirit" has a nice ring, too.
