Zombie Movie Brainstorm Recap

Hello Filmmakers,

At our Wednesday Zombie Team Writing Meeting, we explored four ideas that can be turned into great Zombie short films.  Here's a quick synopsis of each:

  • Zombie Talent Show - Zombies pretend to be human in order to compete.  The setup would be similar to "America's Got Talent."  Unfortunately for the Zombies, body parts fall off exposing them as the undead and no longer human.
  • Training Video (2 versions)  1.  (How to) - Training video demonstrates the right and wrong way for Zombies to attack humans or eat human brains.  2.  (How to) - Zombies taking lessons on how to become exotic dancers.
  • Zombie Marathon /Race - Zombies prepare for the ultimate competition.  The video showcases their training style similar to Rocky in order to win the ultimate championship.
  • House Party - Human party where a person gets so high, that he becomes confused as to whether he's dancing with Zombies or people.  Eventually when he sobers up, he notices that he has become a zombie.

We need a volunteer to write a screenplay for one of the four concepts.  The audience reaction that we would like to obtain is laughter and hope.  Keep in mind our core project objectives of 4-7 minute film, which translates to 4-7 pages and 1-3 locations.  The Zombie Day Walk should be incorporated into the story the best way possible.  The writing should be completed by Thursday, October 10th.  Please email scripts to [address removed].

The Zombie Day walk is scheduled for October 13th Downtown Detroit.  Here's the web link http://zombiewalkdetroit.com/2013-Detroit.html .  The location is still to be determined.  In my opinion, we should simply spread out at the event with our cameras and collect shock footage for our film.  We can use Hollywood Magic to incorporate our story line at a later day.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  I will post to our calendar the screenplay due date and the Zombie Day Walk.  Finally, if anyone has a location that they can recommend or offer for filming, please let me know.
