Tofu House

Apparently the name "Tofu House" is a little misleading. You'd think that a Tofu House would specialize in vegetarian food, but it seems like they have as many chicken, seafood, pork dishes as anything. It might sound like a pan-Asian kind of place, but actually, it's pretty straight-up Korean.

But then sometimes I don't know if people actually read these descriptions past the name of the place. It's Tofu House! Your mind is already made up!

Just want to be clear... will you reserve a table based on how many "yes" there are on the Meetup site, or based on how many people contact you? I just want to be sure that people know whether they're confirmed by saying "yes" on the website.

    Hi Yash, good info.
I searched the web and could only find the ones in Ann Arbor, Lansing and Kalamazoo.
Satay House is closer. I would absolutely like to try.

I AM SO SORRY that I didn't make it. For some reasons, this event didn't show up on my calendar on my iPhone. I literally live and breath with it. And without its reminder, I completely forgot about this event. I wish I was there with you all instead of eating cup of noodle at home.

I accept your apology. And this is why Android phones are better than iPhones. ;-)

One of my favorite restaurants. What could go wrong. :)
Good to meet the people I know again, and good to meet new people. It was a great evening to chat with so many people.

    Is there a cost?
If someone really wants to attend I can change my response to no.

    January 23, 2013

    • Andrew

      It's a restaurant, so yes, there's a cost.

As always, update your RSVP if your plans have changed. If you have to change at the last minute, log on real quick and change. We've got a waiting list, and there are people who would like to come. And if you're on the waiting list, check your email. We usually have a handful of cancellations so chances are pretty good.

Andrew I RSVP'd with a guest when the count was 19. Hope that's not an issue

I don't get off work until 9, I won't make it. Can t wait to meet with you guys though, have a great meeup

Seems like Tofu House is a popular selection. I've set an RSVP cap to 20, because I don't know what I'd do with more people than that, and most of you who RSVPed are among those I can trust to show up when they say they will.

However, if anyone else wants to come, there will be a waiting list, and sitting on a spot when there's a waiting list, well, that's just mean. So if you aren't going to come, change the RSVP to "Not going." And if you're coming late, make sure I know you're actually coming. And if your RSVP says "yes for now" please change it to a definite yes or no as soon as you know.
