Godless Gunnies Halloween Shoot! (+Special weekend announcement!)

Hey there Godless Gunnies!

Well, the season (and year) is winding down quick, so before the weather turns to total crap, we're planning one more outdoor shoot. (When I say "we," the discussion has been going on at the Godless Gunnies Facebook page. If you're not signed-up yet, head for:

Here's the details:

WHEN: Sunday, October 27th @ 11:00 AM

Pontiac Lake Shooting Range (DNR)
7800 Gale Road
Waterford, MI 48327

Handguns n' Rifle extravaganza!
(Shotguns also welcome if you want to bring one, although you'll also need to bring clays and a thrower.)

As usual, I have a safety and function tutorial I present prior to taking the range. We've glossed it over on occasion previously due to everyone being well informed, but this time it WILL BE presented. This is a perfect time if you, or your guest, will be a first-timer.

Eye and hearing protection is mandatory. I bring extra "eyes n' ears" for those who need 'em, while supplies last. (Up to 4 sets.) I'll also have extra targets, which we need to bring to DNR parks. If you decide to bring your own, remember that DNR parks don't allow ANY "humanoid" targets! (Yes, this includes zombies.)

I highly recommend sunscreen and some kind of hat, since we'll be outside. Even if the temp is cool, the UV can burn ya. Brass will be flyin' around, so a hat lets 'em doink off yer head without any damage.

Please bring whatever you might use! As you might know, it's been both scarce AND pricey, but things are starting to ease up a bit. I've found ammo at Dunham's, Wal-Mart, Dick's Sporting Goods, Cabela's and Great Lakes Crossing over the past couple months. Get the best prices you can, but be sure to pay attention to the caliber and jacket. Here's what we use:

9mm FMJ (no reloads. JHP also OK.)
.40 S&W FMJ (Same)
NOTE: If the .22 comes back from the shop, I'll have plenty of ammo for it.

7.62 X 39mm (AK) w/ non-corrosive primers
NOTE: I'll be bringing a LIMITED supply of this stuff! I'm willing to share, but if you can find more, please bring it.

SO MARK YOUR CALENDAR! Let's make this "Halloween Edition" shoot a record-setter!!! As always, if you have any questions, feel free to call or e-mail. My cell # is:[masked]-2808.

THIS JUST IN: Come see me THIS SATURDAY at the Great Lakes Emergency Preparedness Expo! I'll be signing copies of my new book, "Knowing Guns," from noon to 4:00 PM at the Youngevity booth in the Birch Run Expo Center. Stop by to chat, grab a book and check out a unique kinda show! See more at:

Well, that's a pretty dang good excuse there, Craig. By the way, I take a 3X T-shirt. :)

Would dearly like to go shoot something off besides my mouth, but while you and your folks are enjoying The Great Outdoors in Autumnal Michigan, I shall be suffering by the beach in Santa Monica, CA. Perhaps some other time, fer sure ....
