Laravel PHP Part 2

If you want to learn Laravel PHP, then you don't want to miss part two of the Laravel workshops. Collin Schneider, Eric Jones and John Laswell are going to be training us on Laravel. You will learn how to setup a project and how to use Composer as well.

There are a few things you need to have installed and know first first. Here they are:

• Basic programming familiarity, preferably some PHP experience

• PHP capable editor like Sublime Text, PHPStorm, etc.

• PHP 5.4+ command line interface installed

• Mac: http://php-osx.liip.ch/

• Windows: http://windows.php.net/download/

• Linux: may have to compile from source, or via package manager

• PHP Composer installed

• Mac/*nix: http://getcomposer.org/doc/00-intro.md#locally

• Windows: http://getcomposer.org/doc/00-intro.md#installation-windows

We'll handle the rest from there during the training, all the way from a quick overview of Composer and PHP 5.4+ to the "Why Laravel" question to installation of Laravel to understanding terminology to building a small web app and understanding where to find documentation and packages.

I'll fourth the sentiment. The demo project was extremely slick. Eric did an awesome job presenting and going over topics. Colin and John were fantastic at answering questions and helping people get up to speed. Can't wait for the all day presentation. Also, it was interesting to hear what VitaminT had to say.

Eric and the gang did a great job of covering the material in a logical manner and assisting attendees through each step. Even if you missed the first part of the series, these guys would have made you feel right at home by bringing you up to speed.

    Great job!
