Twitter Bootstrap

Date: Jan 9
Presenters: Scott Williams, Todd Shelton

Workshop Description:
Bootstrap is a powerful front-end framework created by Twitter for faster and easier web development. It encourages semantic HTML, uses a robust set of CSS classes to command an amazingly sturdy cross browser experience. It comes pre-packed with enough custom components to get your project off to a good start and sports some rock solid documentation. All for free.

In this workshop we will show you how to set up Bootstrap, use it's grid based layout, components, and libraries. If we have time we might add in a few extra JS libraries to expand Bootstrap and take a peek at the programatic CSS source code called LESS.

Thanks for the pizza. I think for beginners at this, the topic could have been introduced better at the beginning.. He just jumped right in. But after about 30 min I got up to speed and it was great. I will definitely try out Bootstrap.

I used for prototyping a new face for our site and in parts here and there on other projects. It was good to see it from a new perspective. I learned a lot.

Glad you were able to get something out of it. If you have personal experiences to share, don't be shy.

Just wanted to say thank you for allowing The Basement to host. When we moved into our new space we discussed how we looked forward to opening it up to the community beyond hosting our staff for daily operation. Last night was a perfect opportunity. A great turn out and very encouraging to see so many in the local community engaging in great content. We are humbled that you chose to meet within our space. We look forward to helping out in the future.

We truly appreciate it. Finding a space with the right mix of WiFi, easy access, but not completely public can be difficult. The Basement was a great setting, not to mention the added generosity in food and beverage.
