Bakh Inamov from Chef has reached out and offered to give a talk for July, we're working on the agenda but I've included a rough idea below - weigh in with a comment if you want to hear about anything specific!

Here's a quick intro if you're new to Chef or rusty

Rough agenda (TBD):
Chef in the cloud
Live demo
Open discussion (e.g. Chef on Windows, in AWS, Azure, Docker, Chef vs. X, security, etc.)

Bakh is also teaching a public Chef class in Toronto on the 22nd and the 23rd for anyone looking to dive deep into Chef:

This was my very first meetup and I have to say it was worth it !
The Q&A was great to experience. A lot of bright individuals doing cool stuff !
My only regret was that I missed the 2 day training with Bakh. Looking forward to other sessions.

Great meetup! I really enjoyed the Q&A, stuff about chef-container, Jenkins, chef-metal, and so on.

Enjoyed the big picture on the Chef ecosystem.
And yes, my favourite takeaway is learning about chef-metal... and the "chef workflow with tools" slide. :)

To all our yes RSVPs: If you can't make it please update your status - I'll be calling attendance (no not really, who has time for that?)

Steve - just to confirm. The location has changed from MyPlanet to Pager Duty?

Roger that - PagerDuty is the place to be

Our headcount for this one is a bit over what I can likely fit inside Myplanet, so I'm looking for two things:
1.) If you can't make it Thursday please update your RSVP
2.) If you've got space we can use for Thursday let me know!

In any case, we'll make it work =]

ALSO: I compiled a list of DevOps Days talks here - http://j.mp/1kaFSbY - have a look then submit your own! devopsdays.org/events/2014-toronto/propose

Dave Cliffe - our good friend from PagerDuty has volunteered their space! I've updated the address accordingly - see you cats there!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
