Working with legacy code

Local lad and experienced Nuggeteer Mark Jones steps up for his first full length session.  There'll be Pizza, Swag and hopefully a nugget!

Main Session

It's not all clean code out there; there are also heaps of legacy code that make adding new features and fixing bugs very difficult, time-consuming and expensive.  Mark will highlight the need for clean code and good practices to avoid legacy code, and give some practical advice for tackling your organisation's technical debt.

Good talk! Confidently and competently delivered.

As I have spent most of the last 6 years working on legacy applications, I was hoping to learn something, but I was surprised to find that I am effectively working on 'pre-legacy' applications (i.e. written in 'C', C++, VB6, VB Script) as only OO TDD was covered. Nevertheless still and interesting talk and hopefully valuable in the future.

Really great session Mark, confidently delivered and well thought out, good interaction with the crowd, certainly looked like you had done that kind of thing before. We shall work on the empty seats issue.

I had a great evening, glad people enjoyed the talk. The only disappointment was the number of empty seats after the promise of a sell-out gig.

Thanks for sharing the ideas Mark :-) For the empty seats, you were competing against impressive weather!
