Take part in research on apps development
We've been really impressed in your meetup grou, some really vibrant discussion.
As part or our local open data initiative www.openkent.org.uk, working with public service partners to encourage them to open up data, we're working with Kent Business School who are carrying out research on how public services can support developers to develop apps using their open data.
They’re very interested to hear about your development of apps and your views about using open data. Please note your answers will be anonymised.
Just to let you know how your answers and responses will be used. Following analysis of the survey, the student will carry out face to face or telephone interviews of entrepreneurs. This will then help the development of recommendations for councils to better support people using open data to develop apps
This initial questionnaire should take no more than 2 minutes. Please click on the link here http://www.surveymonk... to start the survey. The deadline for responses is 10th August.
Help shape our competition
We're also launching a competition to invite the public to come up with ideas on how to make their area a better place to live, work & play using technology. This builds on the work we’ve done with students & entrepreneurs.
When we launch, there will be the opportunity for people to come up with ideas online for a month and develop them at a workshop. We will then work with people with the skills to develop ways to turn people's ideas into digital tools and then invite service users back to test them to make sure they work for them.
But before we launch this competition, we're keen to engage with people (not just in Kent, but in places like London too!) to see what involvement you’d like to have in developing prototypes or partner with us to host a joint one.
Look forward to your feedback!
