Introduction

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I'm a Ruby and JavaScript developer and RailsBridge organizer who lives in Chicago but visits New York fairly frequently. I'd love to keep track of meetings with the hopes of attending sometime.

What kind of technologist are you? Or if you represent a social mission organization, what's it called and what are your goals?

Ruby and JavaScript, I've worked with Java and PHP a little as well. I'm an organizer and writer for RailsBridge and we put on workshops that teach Ruby on Rails to women, and our goals are expanding the ratio of women in technology and changing the technology space to be more comfortable for women.

Are you currently working on any projects that use technology for social good?

Yes, I'm freelancing on an application that is helping build a solar farm in Southern California. The app is for field engineers to report findings that affect the project's compliance with environmental laws.
