What kind of coder are you? (e.g. Junior/Senior Rubyist /Data Scientist, etc.) -OR- If you represent a social good organization, what is it called and what cause are you working on?

OurGoods.org is a barter network for creative people. Our online platform facilitates matchmaking, and we run real-world events too. The work of artists has tremendous value, but it's not always recognized in the cash marketplace. We're a place where people who value art, creativity and innovation can negotiate exchanges based on shared values and mutual respect. We're working to build the new economy!

Are you currently working on any projects that use technology for social good? If so, please share the website(s) so we can help, too!

Our online platform is built with Ruby on Rails, and we are constantly updating it and adding new features. We spend a lot of time thinking about online interactions, and developing functionality to help create an online environment in which members can trust each other and hold each other accountable. Barter is a new social interaction for a lot of people, and we're interested in creating a site that guides and facilitates that interaction in a comfortable, organic way. We'd like to be the invisible host at the party, giving all our guests exactly what they need and then getting out of their way.
