Please join us for a short practice session and picnic in Central Park. The rain date will be Sunday June 22nd.
Please bring a blanket to sit on and a dish to share.
Click the link below to let us know what dish you will be bringing to the picnic so that we have a good balance of things.
What am I bringing to the Picnic?
The spot is just east of the tennis courts and north of the resevoir. There's a beautiful grove on a small hill there, and it's just a short walk from the restrooms at the tennis Center.
From the East Side:
Enter the Park at the Northwest corner of 97th Street and 5th Avenue.
Proceed West along the path past the East Meadow on your right.
When you come to the East Drive, you will see a traffic light.
Cross at the crosswalk at the traffic light.
Take a sharp left onto the paved path.
The paved path will veer to the right.
Follow the paved path through hill and dale.
We will be in a clearing maybe 100 yards in or so.
If you reach the Tennis Center, turn around; you have gone too far!!
From the West Side:
Enter the Park at 96th Street and Central Park West.
Take a right onto the West Drive.
After walking South about 3 blocks (b/t 93rd & 94th),
you will come to a crosswalk. Take a left and walk on that path, passing a drinking fountain. Keep walking and you will see the tennis courts and then the Tennis Center (toward the center of the Park).
Take a left onto the path that heads East and runs just South (to the right) of the Tennis Center.
Pass the Tennis Center (which will be on your left).
We will be 50 or so yards East of the Tennis Center.
If you hit the East Drive , you have gone too far.
Please see the map that is attached.
Look for the Tibetan Prayer Flags. See you there!
